Meet Tereza Knoxova, Head of Business Operations and Performance for our Commercial team, who is based in London. In this edition of our Life at Onetag series, we talk about making the most of Onetag’s generous annual leave policy and supportive culture, especially during the summer months.
Getting to Know You
1. Can you tell us a bit about your role and what brought you to Onetag?
My role is to support the commercial teams by managing operational workflows and processes, as well as assisting the leadership team to ensure they have clear visibility of the team’s performance. I do this primarily by using internal tools and systems.
2. What were you doing before you joined our team?
Before joining Onetag, I spent over 10 years at Yahoo, followed by a role at News UK. I was then headhunted for a role at Onetag, which was simply too good to refuse.
3. What does a typical workday look like for you in the summer months?
In July, my typical workday starts after dropping my daughter off at nursery or school. I usually cycle either to the office or back home, depending on the day (we go into the office on Mondays and Thursdays). I begin by checking emails and messages from the previous day, reviewing my priorities, and writing down the top three things I want to achieve that day. Then my meetings and tasks begin, which keep me busy until lunchtime. I like to spend lunch with colleagues when I’m in the office, or, if I’m working from home, I call my family back in the Czech Republic. The afternoon is filled with more tasks and calls, then, if it’s my turn, I head out to pick up my daughter (unless it’s my husband’s day!).
In August, I worked remotely from the Czech Republic. That’s where I’m originally from and where my relatives still live. My days started with breakfast with my family, then I worked from my parents’ house, where they helped to look after my daughter. She loved playing in the garden and swimming in a little pool they’d set up. Then my mum would cook lunch, which we’d enjoy together, and after work I’d go for a walk or a swim with my daughter before joining the family for dinner. I really valued this month, as having support with childcare and meals allowed me to focus on work but also fully enjoy my time with loved ones.
Summer, Support & Annual Leave at Onetag
4. How do you usually use your vacation days at Onetag? Any memorable holidays or staycations?
With my husband and daughter, I tend to take trips to the beach to visit my family in the Czech Republic. Those trips back home are usually longer, around a week or two.. I also like to use vacation days for long weekend holidays, which we sometimes spend visiting friends who also have kids . Other times we just get out of town for a bit as a family. One memorable recent holiday was our trip to Mauritius, where we swam every day, played on the beach, and explored the island. It was really special for my family to have time together in such a beautiful place.
5. At Onetag every employee gets 30 days of leave. How does having more than the average number of leave days impact your wellbeing?
I really value it. For me, it’s important to have a career that gives me time to be present as a parent and and to create memorable moments with my family. Having this amount of time off allows me to do both. Whenever I return from leave, I feel recharged, balanced, and ready to give my best again.
6. Have you taken advantage of flexibility during the summer to work from anywhere?
Yes, as I mentioned, I recently worked remotely from the Czech Republic and plan to do the same around Christmas. It’s a great way to spend time with my family without missing too much work.
Onetag Life & Culture
7. How would you describe the culture at Onetag in one sentence?
Onetag is a place for hardworking individuals who, within the fast pace of a scaling startup, can maintain a healthy work–life balance while still excelling in their careers.
8. What’s something you really like about our people-first benefits?
I really appreciate that Onetag offers a strong pension scheme, excellent health insurance, and now even mental health support, which I think is just superb.
9. How do you see Onetag’s values come to life during the summer season?
I think Onetag’s values really come to life in the summer, when the company really shows how much it cares about employees’ well-being. Allowing people to work from home or even abroad provides flexibility, demonstrates trust in the staff, and personally motivates me to work even harder.
Final Thoughts
10. What advice would you give to someone who doesn’t always feel comfortable taking time off or asking for flexibility?
I would say, if you don’t ask, you don’t get it. The worst that can happen is being told it’s not possible, but at least you tried. I believe companies like Onetag are open and willing to listen to employees’ requests and support them whenever possible.
Want to join the team?
If you’re looking for a place where taking time off is encouraged, where flexibility is the norm, and where generous leave is more than a perk — it’s part of the culture — Onetag could be the perfect fit.
